In Russia, passengers on the upper shelves of long-distance trains will have the right to be legally placed on the lower shelves in some cases. The fact that disputes between travelers on this issue will soon come to an end, RIA Novosti reports on Sunday.

It is noted that passengers from the upper shelves will be allowed to sit in the lower seats at the table during breakfast, lunch and dinner, that is, from 07:00 to 10:00, from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 19:00 to 21: 00. In the morning and evening, 30 minutes will be allotted for this, in the afternoon – an hour.

The rules are expected to come into effect this autumn. Previously, these measures were not enshrined at the legislative level. The Ministry of Transport took this decision after numerous appeals from citizens.

Earlier it was reported that a double-decker train from Ufa via Samara to Sochi is planned to be launched again in 2023.
