Ostrovok: tourists from the Russian Federation flocked en masse to Belarus for the New Year


Russian tourists are more active than in previous years in planning trips abroad during the New Year holidays. This was reported by RBC, citing the online housing booking service Ostrovok.

Belarus has become the leading destination for Russian citizens. The cost of a night’s accommodation in the capital of the country, Minsk, in late December and early January averages 9.4 thousand rubles. It is noted that this is 36% more expensive than in 2022.

The second place was taken by the Turkish city of Istanbul. On average, living there will cost 10.8 thousand rubles per day. The price increased by 37% compared to the previous year.

The top five also included the Belarusian cities of Brest and Grodno and the Thai resort of Pattaya. It is noted that 57% of Russians prefer traveling to the countries of the post-Soviet space.
