US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia – Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Tajikistan , Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (C5 + 1 format). It is reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan.
It is known that the parties discussed topical regional issues and efforts to expand trade and economic ties with each other. In addition, the C5 + 1 virtual secretariat was launched, which is aimed at “institutional support and coordinated implementation of the agreements reached.”
It is noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, proposed holding the next meeting in this format in Astana .
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the expansion of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States. The head of Kazakhstan also told American investors in detail about the political and economic reforms in his country.
