December enters the most active phase, when it is not possible to keep track of all the news, but it is extremely important to keep abreast of the events of the outgoing year. Let’s recall the most important and relevant news in the field of education and find out what changes await schoolchildren and their parents.

A unified system for assessing the quality of education will appear in Russia
Deputy Head of Rosobrnadzor Evgeny Semchenko informed on the development of a unified system for assessing the quality of education, including an expanded list of diverse indicators. It will allow you to see the real picture of domestic education and study all aspects in detail.
According to Semchenko, the identification of shortcomings and deficiencies in the education system will have a qualitative impact on further management decisions. Conclusions on the general state of the educational system will be based both on traditional assessment procedures – the OGE, the Unified State Exam, NIKO, VPR – and on the international PISA standards. There were also estimates of regional and municipal management mechanisms in the education system.
An integrated approach will make it possible to provide targeted assistance and draw up recommendations for improving the qualifications of teachers or changes in the training of teaching staff.
The head of the department noted that the new system will open up opportunities for timely adjustment and adaptation of management mechanisms to specific problems or deficiencies found in the educational environment.
Epidemic and frost: schoolchildren switch to remote format
In the first winter month, educational institutions traditionally face two problems: a peak in the incidence among students and extremely low temperatures. These points often force local authorities to transfer students to distance learning.
The epidemiological situation poses a particular threat to school-age children. In order to prevent the spread of infection, Rospotrebnadzor released methodological recommendations for the regions, according to which the transition of schools to a remote format can be carried out. The agency said that an educational institution or a separate educational group is transferred to distance learning in the absence of more than 20% of students in the classroom.
Sad statistics arrives from the Voronezh region, where a two-fold increase in the incidence was recorded over the past week. According to the regional mayor’s office, educational activities have been completely suspended in 613 classes of the region. A similar increase in cases was marked in the Kursk region, where 4,799 children have SARS or influenza and are in quarantine. Five schools in the region and two kindergartens have already been quarantined, the rest continue to work in a hybrid format.
In Vladikavkaz from December 10, quarantine was also announced in all educational institutions of the city. This decision was made after the threshold value of pupils and pupils of kindergartens who fell ill with ARVI and influenza was exceeded by more than 20%.
The epidemic is not the only obstacle to learning. In recent days, news about the violence of the elements in the regions of our country has been increasingly appearing. Schoolchildren were at the mercy of extremely low temperatures. In some areas of our country, thermometers drop to -54 degrees. In such weather conditions, face-to-face education poses a danger to children.
Extreme cold is predicted in the coming days in the Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Sverdlovsk, Omsk regions, the Komi Republic, the Altai Territory and a number of Russian territories. However temperature borders, at which local authorities may recommend the suspension of classes in schools vary depending on the climatic zone of the region.
