New anti-Russian sanctions are the choice of Brussels, but they undermine Europe’s own interests, follows from the statement of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexandra Grushko.

According to him, the EU refuses to comply with market principles in the energy and financial fields. As the diplomat explained, this choice of European states leads to specific actions that provoke the destruction of international economic relations in their former form.
“It undermines the economic interests of these countries,” Grushko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation believes that Europe has chosen a self-destructive path, because it increasingly has to sacrifice its own interests.
The diplomat also stressed that Moscow regrets this choice of the European Union. For many years, Russia has been building equal ties with European countries in various fields, Grushko concluded.
Earlier it became known that on December 15, the EU finally agreed on the next package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
