Netanyahu called nonsense the words about Israel’s violation of international law
Statements about violations of international law by Israel as part of the war against the radical Palestinian group Hamas are nothing more than nonsense. Accordingly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out about the relevant accusations. The Hill reports this.
It is clarified that the politician answered in one word the question asked by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, regarding the correlation of the collective punishment of the Palestinians with a war crime.
“I can say that the commission’s words are nonsense (…). No, we deliberately do everything in our power to defeat the terrorists. And the civilian population, as happens in any legal war, is sometimes called “collateral damage,” the Israeli Prime Minister emphasized.
He drew attention to the fact that Hamas is making every effort to ensure that the civilian population of the Gaza Strip suffers. Representatives of the group will continue to hide behind the citizens of the enclave. This means that Israel will never be able to fight it, Netanyahu clarified.
Previously Public News Service reportedthat, according to Netanyahu, Israel’s target was and remains terrorists, and civilian casualties are collateral, and this happens in “every legitimate war.”
