Establishment negotiations gas alliance between Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan continue, said Yury Sentyurin, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. During a conversation with RIA Novosti, he advised not to trust the media’s speculation about the course of this discussion.
As the diplomat emphasized, the Russian authorities paid attention to how the mass media covered the statements taken out of context by the officials of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. According to Sentyurin, unfounded conclusions are drawn from such quotes about the unwillingness of Russia’s partners to join the gas union.
“And this is with the understanding that negotiations are underway right now, they have not been completed. There may be some judgments, a remark thrown “on the feet”. On this basis (the media), such conclusions are made that the countries do not accept (the project). At a minimum, the process of studying this proposal, this approach is now underway, ”added the employee of the foreign ministry.
As the Public News Service wrote earlier, according to the text of the conclusions on energy and economy of the summit of the heads of the EU countries, EU leaders appealed to ministers to agree price ceiling on gas December 19. The corresponding measure is expected to be introduced as part of the market correction mechanism.
