Educational organizations will receive additional funding.
The list of small schools in the Ulyanovsk region includes almost 80 institutions. The list is approved annually according to the criteria in force in the region, the main of which is the number of students and transport accessibility.
Small-class schools include schools with 20 or fewer students, where 40 or fewer students receive basic secondary education, and 80 or fewer children receive secondary general education, and other schools are either located 20 or more kilometers away, or are not able to provide transport students. In 2023, the list of understaffed included 77 educational organizations in the Ulyanovsk region. The corresponding resolution was adopted by the Legislative Assembly of the region. Nine of them will implement educational programs for primary general education, twenty-two for basic general education, and 46 for secondary general education.
The list includes the Kholstovskaya secondary school in the Pavlovsk district, the Aleshkinskaya primary school in the Sengileevsky district, the Dmitrievskaya primary school in the Radishevsky district, and the Privolzhskaya primary school in Novoulyanovsk, where the number of students has significantly decreased. Since in the Karlinskaya secondary school named after I.S. Polbina Mainsky district now has 73 children and the distance to the nearby one is more than 20 kilometers, this also made it possible to include this educational institution in the list of understaffed ones, the press service of the Legislative Assembly said. They noted that small schools receive additional funding from the regional budget in addition to the basic standard – 95%.
Earlier, the Uchitelskaya Gazeta online publication talked about the pros and cons of transferring schools from the municipal to the regional level. The State Duma adopted in the first reading amendments to the Law “On Education in the Russian Federation”, which refer to this. According to State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, the transfer of schools to the regional level will improve the quality of education, solve personnel and logistical problems.
