On Sunday, December 18, Moscow residents are advised to change to public transport; it is better to use Aeroexpress trains to travel to the airport. This is stated in the message of the capital’s Department of Transport.

“Due to the effects of heavy snowfall, traffic at 10:00 am is estimated at 4 points. During the day, we ask you to refrain from traveling by personal transport – so public utilities will clean the roads faster, ”the department explained. It is noted that in order to move around Moscow, citizens and guests of the capital are recommended to transfer to the metro, MCC or MCD.

Currently, traffic is hampered on the Moscow Ring Road in the area of Verkhniye Polya Street, as well as on the Third Ring Road in the area of Suschevsky Val Street. The reasons for the difficulties in the deptrans are called record snowfalls, a decrease in overall speeds, minor accidents, stuck trucks, as well as an increase in trips with the approach of the New Year holidays.

Earlier it became known that the level of snow in Moscow broke the record of 1989. As they said in the weather center “Phobos”, 33 years ago on December 18, snowy cover reached the level of 31 cm.
