In Kharkov, unknown people destroyed a monument to the Soviet writer Nikolai Ostrovsky. It is reported by RT.

At the same time, it is not specified who exactly took part in the destruction of the monument.

It is worth noting that in December vandals painted it with red paint, and local activists demanded its dismantling.

The reason for the dissatisfaction was the participation of Ostrovsky in the Civil War on the side of the Red Army.

Previously, the Public News Service wrote that Ukraine has developed a draft law on the fight against Pushkin.

The government has already approved the new bill. The decision on its final adoption will help resolve the issue of renaming streets named after Russian figures.

According to representatives of the administration of the President of Ukraine, the “war” with the streets of Alexander Pushkin began as part of the “decommunization” campaign.
