In winter, Russia should not expect the beginning of the second wave of partial mobilization, political analyst Sergei Markov noted. In his opinion, there are enough people at the front in the ranks of the RF Armed Forces, and a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine does not mean “crowds with Kalashnikovs.”

“There will be no mobilization in winter. There is no point in carrying out a new mobilization, since the front needs a modern army armed with modern weapons,” Markov wrote on his Telegram channel.

The political scientist recalled the words of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, which indicated that only half of all those mobilized in the fall of 2022 – 150 thousand people – are on the front lines. The rest of the military personnel are trained at military training grounds.

Earlier, Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence of Ukraine Vadim Skibitsky said that in January Russia intends to conduct a second wave of mobilization, within which 500,000 fighters will be called up. More read in material Public news service.
