Legal expert Igor Pozdnyakov argued that criminals have a large number of ways that allow them to obtain information about the balance of a bank card.

From the point of view presented by him in the course of communication with the Prime news agency, it follows that the easiest option should still be to observe a possible victim when he receives money from an ATM. A similar option, the lawyer argues, is the collection of checks issued by an ATM.

Much more complex and requiring a good understanding of technology is the use of “loopholes” in the official applications that banks create. Despite their reliability, the specialist called such options for obtaining classified information too expensive and difficult to implement.

In conclusion, he pointed to the fact that there is not enough information regarding the amount of finance on the card in order to withdraw money from it. Fraudsters receive information about this parameter only in order to be more likely to convince the victim of their involvement in the bank. It is for this reason that you should never tell them any codes that come to you from the bank and other personal information.

Recall that Servicepipe, a developer of solutions for protecting against cyber attacks, warned Russians that scammers began to steal bonuses from bank customers using bots. After the attackers get the bonuses, they buy popular products during times of high demand and create an artificial scarcity.

Because of this, real users face difficulties during purchases. Increased activity of fraudulent activity is associated with frequent leaks from retailers.

As previously reported by the Public News Service, the Russian Ministry of Digital Transformation made a proposal to telecom operators to introduce a new mechanism to fight spam calls. The department wrote about this in its Telegram channel.
