In order not to fall for tricks scammers you need to clearly know what to do in case of sudden calls from unknown numbers. According to lawyer Vladimir Goncharov, the most important thing is not to panic when you hear bad news. Rambler writes about it.

“The suddenness of the call and your panic often play into the hands of scammers. Do not give in to emotions, even if you are under pressure. As a rule, pressure can be both negative (that someone is trying to steal your money) and positive (that you won the lottery),” says the lawyer.

In such a situation, you need, first of all, to calm down and hang up. If the number really matches the bank number, you need to call the bank’s hotline.

This method is great for those who are afraid that someone will withdraw money from a bank account. This is impossible, because if you made a test call, then at least the action is suspended until you answer.

Vladimir Goncharov warns: under no circumstances should you say the word “yes”, because scammers can impose the context of the conversation and confirm the transaction for the transfer of funds. In your answers, use something more complex than “hello” or “listening.”
