Russian troops in the zone of the special operation received the latest sound-thermal reconnaissance systems “Penicillin” for effective combat with artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Military historian, director of the Air Defense Forces Museum Yuri Knutov told what their advantage is in a conversation with “Izvestia”.

He noted that it is very difficult to determine the location of such a complex.

“That is, passive means are being used that do not emit electromagnetic and other waves into the airspace,” he explained.

“Penicillin” by sound determines where the shot was fired from, and by sound determines its trajectory.

Knutov noted that the complex can only be detected visually using an unmanned aerial vehicle. Intelligence tools do not find him.
