State Duma deputy, head of the Sober Russia project Sultan Khamzaev proposed to introduce a ban on the sale of nicotine-containing products to citizens who were born after a certain year. He spoke about it in an interview with Lente.ru.

He commented on a law in New Zealand that prohibits the sale of tobacco products to certain individuals. We are talking about people who were born after January 1, 2009. In his opinion, in Russia, the effect of such a law will not be immediately visible.

Khamzaev drew attention to the fact that if such a law is eventually adopted in the country, it is impossible to allow any alternative to replace tobacco.

“But when the category of citizens who will be prohibited from selling nicotine-containing products comes of age, it will already be independent of tobacco, there will be no reason for it to fall into their hands,” the deputy said.
