Authorities of the Kaliningrad areas up to the present time, they have fears that Lithuania may impose a complete ban on transit to the Russian region. The corresponding statement was made by the head of the region Anton Alikhanov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“There is, of course,” the governor said in response to a question from journalists about whether the authorities of the region have concerns about the possibility of a complete ban on transit from Lithuania.
He also noted that if the authorities of the region had not experienced these fears, then at the end of 2016 a decision on the importance of building ferries would not have been made.
Earlier, the Public News Service reported that military expert Vladimir Evseev said that Russia could cut through the ground the corridor to the Kaliningrad region.
According to him, in the event that Lithuania dares to join the confrontation in Ukraine, the military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces will immediately receive this opportunity.
