Six journalists have been detained in South Sudan for a video showing President Salva Kiir urinating while the national anthem is played. It is reported by Reuters.

Recall that earlier footage was circulated on the Web, in which the 71-year-old head of South Sudan gets wet during the performance of the national anthem at the opening of the highway.

The head of the union of journalists of South Sudan, Patrick Oyet, said that cameramen, a video editor, a journalist and employees of the studio control room were taken into custody. He noted that all those arrested were involved in getting a video on the Internet, which was not released on any of the channels.

The representative of the Committee to Protect Journalists in Sub-Saharan Africa, Mutoki Mumo, in turn, pointed out that this detention is another case of arbitrariness of law enforcement agencies in South Sudan.

Recall video clip from South Sudan went viral on social media and was featured in the world’s leading media. Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani justified head of an African state after an absurd embarrassment and said that the pissed president showed “extreme patriotism.”
