The world is currently at a “historical turning point”, constantly facing significant challenges and massive challenges. This is stated in the official statement of the Prime Minister Japan Fumio Kishida, which was posted on the website of the Japanese G7 Presidency.
According to Kishida, the history of the world is at a “historic turning point” due to the coronavirus pandemic and Ukrainian crisis.
He emphasized that the G7 categorically rejects attempts to change the status quo by force, threat or use of nuclear weapons, and also supports an international order based on the rule of law.
Fumio Kishida noted that the world community is facing serious challenges in the economy, energy and food security, as well as regional problems, including the situation around Ukraine and Asia.
The Prime Minister of Japan expressed his concern over the topic of nuclear disarmament, climate change and international health.
As chairman, he will facilitate open discussions among G7 leaders to form proposals and plans for the future.
