The fee for issuing a number of documents will change from July 1, 2024. The cost of obtaining a new international passport (with an electronic storage medium) will increase from five to six thousand rubles. For children under 14 years old, the price will change from 2.5 to 3 thousand rubles. The travel document for refugees and the fee for registering a foreigner at the place of residence will increase in price from 350 to 420 rubles.
Also, according to the published bill, the fee for issuing an invitation to enter the country will increase from 800 to 960 rubles, and a residence permit – from five to six thousand rubles. Obtaining a temporary residence permit will also cost more; the state duty for the service will increase from 1.6 to 1.92 thousand rubles. Permission to attract and use foreign workers will increase in price from 10 to 12 thousand. Getting a job for a foreign citizen or stateless person or obtaining or renouncing Russian citizenship will cost 700 rubles more – 4.2 thousand rubles.
At the end of January, residents of some regions of Russia complained on the inability to obtain a new generation passport valid for 10 years. The issuance of documents in the new format was suspended until the second half of March 2023 due to technical reasons on the part of “Goznak”.
After this, the Russian company Mikron, which produces chips for a new type of foreign passport, announced the need to rearrange the production and supply schedule due to the multifold increase in demand for its products.
