Palestinian radical Hamas movement agreed to a deal to free at least 50 hostages. This became known to The Washington Post (WP) from an Arab diplomat familiar with the negotiations.
It is noted that in exchange for hostages Israel agree to a pause in fighting of 3 to 5 days, as well as an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza and the release of an unspecified number of Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons.
The newspaper’s source warned that the agreement currently being discussed could fall apart like the previous ones, although they defined some of the same parameters, but with different numbers of hostages involved and the conditions for their release.
Previously Qatar tried achieve an agreement between Israel and Hamas on the release of hostages. Qatar negotiated the release of 50 hostages from the Gaza Strip in exchange for a three-day truce. The deal being discussed was agreed upon with USA.
