The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in a regular report on the hostilities in the framework of a special operation in Ukraine spoke about the goals of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

According to American analysts, the targets have not changed during the special operation. They are maximalist, the experts pointed out.

“Putin continues to pursue maximalist goals in Ukraine, using a variety of mechanisms designed to force Ukrainians to negotiate on Russia’s terms and likely to make preemptive concessions that are very beneficial to Russia,” the American Institute emphasized.

The specialists added that this goal is the basis of the military, political, economic and diplomatic actions of the Kremlin over the past ten months.

In addition, ISW said that in the first months of 2023, Russia may launch a large-scale offensive during a special operation. It will take place during the important winter months.

Recall that on Thursday, February 24, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, in his address to the citizens of the Russian Federation, announced the start of a military special operations in Donbass. He stressed that Moscow’s plans do not include the occupation of Kyiv, but it will strive with all its might to demilitarize Ukraine.

As the Public News Service wrote earlier, if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wanted to delve into history countries and other territories, then you should go back to the 1900s, Viktor Vodolatsky said.

According to him, then it will become clear which borders the head of Ukraine will claim, and which territories must be returned to Moscow.
