Collector Jenny Green helped keep a museum of Russian art in Spain open. This is reported by the British newspaper The Guardian.
According to the source, Museo Ruso, a branch of the Russian Museum in Malaga, wanted to close due to the decision to take its entire collection back to Russia in May 2022.
The director of the museum said that interaction with the St. Petersburg museum was interrupted due to hostilities in Ukraine and the only way to survive is to exhibit the work of private collectors.
Briton Jenny Green came to the rescue. She has been collecting Russian art for 20 years. She offered to exhibit the works of Russian artists that she has in the museum. Among them are Alesei Venetsianov, Ivan Aivazovsky, Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov and others. Her collection will be shown for the first time.
