A parade in honor of the Great Victory was held in Shilovo, despite heavy rain and squally wind

On May 9, in the working settlement of Shilovo, it was pouring rain in the morning. But the bad weather did not prevent veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, residents and guests of the village from participating in the parade in honor of the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory!

With observance of all traditions, the construction of columns and the removal of the Banner of Victory took place on the central Sovetskaya Square. He was taken on a military armored personnel carrier to the place of the festive rally to the memorial of Glory. The parade procession was led by the folk brass band of the regional Palace of Culture. After laying a star wreath of carnations and garlands at the Fire of Memory, the head of the district, Elena Sinetova, congratulated those gathered on the holiday. She spoke about the exploits of the Shilovites who fought on the fronts, called on the youth to honor the memory of almost ten thousand fellow defenders who did not return home, not to forget the feat of those who forged the Victory in the rear.

A memorial service for the fallen soldiers was held by the dean of the Shilovsky district, rector of the Assumption Church in the village of Shilovo, Archpriest John. The Shilovites honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence, laid flowers at the Fire of Memory and the memorial.

There were many children and young people at the festival. At least a hundred portraits of their relatives-front-line soldiers were carried by the Shilovites in the procession of the Immortal Regiment. The organizers of the holiday invited everyone to take part in the evening festive program at the regional Palace of Culture.
