A personal parade was held in Rybny for war veteran Yakov Makarov
On May 9, in honor of Victory Day, a personal parade was held for Yakov Ilyich Makarov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
Soldiers of military unit No. 98531 and members of the Youth Army marched along the street near the veteran’s house. Next to Yakov Ilyich stood his great-great-grandson Yegor and proudly saluted.
Yakov Ilyich was born on September 15, 1924 in the village of Novo-Tonino, Spassky District. After graduating from 4 classes, he worked on a collective farm.
He was called to the front on August 12, 1942. He fought in the 13th Infantry Regiment as an easel machine gunner. He defended the Arctic, where he was awarded the medal “For Military Merit” for prompt and competent reconnaissance of the area. He also has awards: medals “For the defense of the Soviet Arctic”, “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War” and others. He went through a combat path from Moscow to Berlin, where he met the Victory.
In 1947 he returned from the war, worked on a collective farm, then in an inter-collective farm construction organization.
Yakov Ilyich Makarov:
“It was the most important and happiest day in my life when I found out about the Victory. And the most bitter thing is the death of comrades. Just three months before the Victory, my comrade and countryman died.
