In Nizhny Tagil, when repairing roads under the Safe High-Quality Roads national project, they began to use 3D modeling to reduce the amount of flooding on the roadway. Last year, the contractor UBT-Service tested the technology on Ilyicha Street in the Dzerzhinsky District. And this season, Leningradsky Prospekt will be renovated according to a similar scheme.

“On the road [улице Ильича] there were many areas that accumulate puddles. And in order to get away from this, we used modern equipment: we hired a third-party organization, a special car arrived with interesting modern equipment that scans the road surface, draws a 3D model. Based on it, we “drive” the image of the correct relief into the cutter, and the cutter should no longer cut off the existing coating completely, namely, go in such a way as to create slopes with slopes so that the water does not stand. It was not possible to remove all the puddles the first time, but if this technology had not been used, there would have been 50% more puddles. The technology has proven itself positively, and therefore we decided to apply it on Leningradsky Prospekt, ”said Gadzhi Abdulov, director of UBT-Service, on the air of Tagil-TV.

He added that the slowdown in the repair of the roadway of Leningradsky Prospekt was affected by the sanctions imposed against Russia by Western countries in response to the start of a special operation in Ukraine. According to Abdulov, the restrictions have made it more difficult to purchase spare parts for expensive imported road equipment.

“As we all know, sanctions have been imposed against our country and equipment, often, we still use foreign equipment. The cutter had a problem. As before, it has become impossible to just buy it in the store, so you have to find all sorts of workarounds. In the next week or two, we will begin milling the surface and, accordingly, laying asphalt, ”he said.

In addition, Gorenergo-NT is actively working on the central highway of the Dzerzhinsky district. The municipal company made a dozen digs, changing the emergency sections of its networks. Utilities go to a depth of up to two meters, so it is important that they carry out filling and compaction according to technology in order to avoid subsidence in the future, Abdulov added. All work is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.

In 2022, in general, according to the BKD national project in Nizhny Tagil, the pavement is being changed on nine streets with a length of almost 15 km. 608 million rubles were allocated for this from the budgets of all levels. The most expensive section is on Leningradsky Prospekt from Zarya Street to Yunosti. Almost 180 million rubles will be spent on the repair of this long section. In addition to the roadway itself, the contract includes wide sidewalks with tiles and granite curbs.

Flooding of roads after rains or utility accidents is a long-standing problem in Nizhny Tagil. This happens due to the unsatisfactory condition or the absence of the so-called “storm drains”. The BKD national project most often implies only current repairs of highways, and not capital ones. Because of this, storm water inlets do not appear there, and flood problems persist. For example, after a heavy rain last week, Metallurgov and Industrialnaya streets in the Tagilstroevsky district literally turned into rivers and went under water, despite their renewal according to the BCD in 2018 and 2021.
