The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia has extended the “orange” level of weather danger in Moscow and the Moscow region. Relevant data are posted on the website of the research institution.

It is noted that the warning period will be valid until 22:00 on January 8.

At the same time, such measures are being taken due to abnormally cold weather for the capital with an average daily air temperature 9-17 degrees below the climatic norm.

So, on January 7 in Moscow the temperature is expected to reach minus 20-22 degrees, without precipitation.

Previously, the Public News Service wrote that last night in Moscow became the coldest since the beginning of winter.

According to meteorologists, the minimum readings of thermometers at other weather stations in the capital range from 21.1 to 24.8 degrees below zero.

Before that, the coldest night of the winter was the night of January 6, when thermometers showed minus 23 degrees.
