In Mikhailov, they worked out the procedure for detecting a focus of infection with African swine fever
On May 12, a training session was held in Mikhailovo to localize a conditional focus of African swine fever in the Ryazan region. In the process of work, the participants of the training considered the mechanism of actions of the state veterinary service, municipal authorities, forces and means of the territorial subsystem for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations.
The training was attended by representatives of the regional government, Rosselkhoznadzor, agricultural enterprises of the region, veterinary services of the Ryazan, Tula and Lipetsk regions, as well as guests from six districts of our region.
Head of the Mikhailovsky District Administration Yevgeny Sidorov:
“Today we can work out and show the guests the interaction of forces and services of the region in the event of a special dangerous disease – African swine fever. In 2016, there was an outbreak of this disease in our area in the private sector. With common coordinated work, we managed to stop the spread of the disease.”
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ryazan Region Dmitry Filippov:
“Unfortunately, there is no vaccine for African swine fever. But in the event of this disease, the scale of the tragedy acquires a colossal negative value for the economy, for the livestock of wild and domestic animals. Maintaining well-being in this area requires serious efforts.”
The deputy chairman noted that after the actions in case of detection of an outbreak of African swine fever are worked out in Mikhailov, similar trainings should be held in each district.
Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Boris Shemyakin drew the attention of the audience to the fact that ensuring the food security of our country is one of the most important tasks of the agricultural industry. Therefore, care must be taken to preserve the livestock and protect them from various diseases.
Lyubov Gavrikova, Head of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Ryazan Region, told the training participants about African swine fever and its spread.
After the theoretical part, during which the meeting of the commission for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety in case of detection of an outbreak of African swine fever was worked out, all the participants of the meeting went out into the street.
Here was the practical part of the training. Andrey Maksimov, head of the district veterinary station, spoke about the procedure. All participants of the meeting were shown how all services work when an infection is detected. There is no doubt: in the Mikhailovsky district, both people and equipment are ready to eliminate the focus of the disease.
