Details. According to Cherneiko, most of all specialists will be missed in the field of IT – a shortage of 17.4 thousand workers, construction – 5 thousand, mechanical engineering – 5 thousand, transport activities – 4.3 thousand, logistics – 4.1 thousand, education – 2 ,8 thousand and others.
The list also includes the medical sector with a shortage of 1.1 thousand employees.
“The point is not that there are no people at all, but that there are not enough people with specific competencies,” Cherneiko said.
According to hh.ru, by the end of the year employers in St. Petersburg began posting job ads 1.5% more often. “This is generally not typical of the labor market at the end of the year, when companies gradually “go on vacation” and slightly reduce the demand for new employees,” the company’s analysts write.
Also, hh.ru notes that the number of vacancies in the IT industry is growing in St. Petersburg. Since the beginning of the year, their number has grown by 59%, while the number of resumes has grown by only 26%.
How to fix. According to Cherneiko, the city plans to solve the problem by increasing labor productivity. “There is a national project on labor productivity, which includes more than 130 enterprises and the effect is very good there. There is an increase in profits and productivity. <…> This is the main way to solve the problem of staff shortages,” the official said.
