As reported on the website of the Government of Russia, now in hospitals and clinics across the country it will be possible to be tested for the influenza virus under the MHI policy. The resolution on the procedure for conducting such studies was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin.

According to a message on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, this decision was made due to the increase in cases of influenza, including in combination with coronavirus. Testing will quickly identify the type of infection in patients and prescribe the necessary treatment. Studies for influenza and SARS can be carried out simultaneously with a PCR test for coronavirus, if indicated.

Formerly online edition “Teacher’s newspaper” told , that the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova spoke about the need to test for influenza during a meeting with the President and members of the Government on December 14. According to her, this will help reduce the risks for the sick.

As Anna Popova said now, due to the increase in the incidence of influenza in Russia, the educational process has been partially suspended in almost 600 schools and 12,662 classes. She noted that these measures to suspend the educational process will continue.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor recalled that the educational process is suspended when 20% of children are absent from a class, school, group or kindergarten due to illness. In this case, the class or the entire educational institution is quarantined. This is done to separate children and prevent the virus from spreading.
