Sergei Kravtsov, in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel, noted that the ministry, together with pedagogical universities and the Association of Pedagogical Universities, managed to develop and approve the core of teacher education in two years. According to him, virtually unified teacher training programs have appeared both in the system of higher education and in the system of secondary vocational education.

The minister added that interest in the teaching profession is growing. This year, 370 thousand applicants for pedagogical specialties were submitted, which is 1.5 times more compared to 2021.

10 billion rubles were allocated to 33 pedagogical universities over the course of two years. Kravtsov also recalled legislative initiatives designed to develop education in the country. Thus, a law on unified federal educational programs was adopted, and the term “educational service” was excluded from Russian legislation.

According to Sergei Kravtsov, there is no other country in the world with such a school overhaul program as there is in Russia. 500 billion rubles were allocated for overhauls. 1100 schools have already been updated. At the same time, educational institutions can spend, at their discretion, about 6.5 – 7 million rubles for the purchase of the necessary equipment and furniture. It is planned that 7300 buildings will be repaired within 5 years. And by 2024, 1,300 schools will be built.

The head of the Ministry of Education said that next year, which is declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, special emphasis will be placed on supporting teachers.

“We have big plans, we discussed them together with teachers, together with teachers, we have various seminars, various conferences,” the Minister of Education’s Telegram channel quoted the head of the department as saying. He added that issues and material incentives for teachers are being worked out, new programs are emerging.

With regard to additional education, today sports clubs have been established in 31,000 schools, and school theaters have been established in 24,000 educational institutions. Pre-school education is also developing. Thus, over the past 10 years, the number of children who go to kindergartens has increased by 30%. A federal program of preschool education has been adopted, which will be mandatory from January 1, 2023. This year, a program of educational work with parents was implemented in 7 pilot regions.

This year, the Professionalism program was launched in the system of secondary vocational education, when children are trained in an educational institution to work at a particular enterprise. Within the framework of this program, 71 educational and production clusters have been created in 43 regions. The interest of graduates in secondary vocational education is also growing. More than 60% of children choose to continue their education in colleges and technical schools.

Russia is also active in international cooperation. Sergey Kravtsov said that only this year 5 schools were opened in Tajikistan, and 150 Russian language teachers went to teach in Uzbekistan. The Forum of Ministers of Friendly Countries is planned to be held next year.

Formerly online edition “Teacher’s newspaper” led the words of the President of the Russian Federation, who said that by the end of 2023, all children under three years of age should be provided with places in nursery groups of kindergartens. He noted that successful human development depends on quality education and versatile development. And the state, in turn, must provide such opportunities throughout the country.

It is worth adding that 33 pedagogical universities that received financing, create new spaces in their universities, open “Quantoriums” with modern equipment, similar to what goes to new schools today. A creative, motivating atmosphere is created in universities.
