Representative of the Secretary General United Nations António Guterres Stéphane Dujarric has said that he will be able to mediate in the Ukrainian conflict only if both sides ask him to do so. TASS writes about it.

Dujarric put it this way: “We were talking about this with the Secretary General before the New Year when the news came out. The Secretary General has made it clear that he is always ready to mediate if both sides want it.”

Earlier, the head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for the first time made a New Year’s address to the inhabitants of the country, surrounded by the military of the Russian Armed Forces, taking part in the implementation of the NMD in Ukraine. State awards could be seen on the uniforms of many of them.

The politician drew attention to the fact that the past year turned out to be a year of difficult decisions and put a lot in its place. Putin described 2022 as a year of pivotal events that lay the foundation for the future of both the Russian Federation and the whole world. More about it read in material Public news service.
