The Ministry of Culture has just released the list of Gold Medals of Merit for Fine Arts among those who are Amaral.

Amaral They are Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts 2021. This was just announced by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Spain. The duo received the news with these words: «Between astonishment and beastly gratitude, we want to dedicate it to all the bands that make us love music as a means of expression and space for freedom …»

In 2009 this distinction went to José Antonio Labordeta who received it with these words: “As I did not expect it, it seems a bit excessive to me but I am happy”. According to the aforementioned public institution, the award “distinguishes individuals and entities that have excelled in the field of artistic and cultural creation or have provided notable services in the promotion, development or dissemination of art and culture or in the conservation of heritage artistic”.

Eva María Amaral Lallana and Juan Vicente García Aguirre, which is how they appear in the official notification, they share recognition during this year with names such as: Javier Bardem, Icíar Bollaín, Paloma San Basilio, Ana Locking, Ian Gibson, Antón Reixa, Pablo Guerrero and Saioa Hernández.

Almost a quarter of a century of successes

Amaral, since they began their first steps in the late 90s, has received a multitude of awardss. The last of them so far, had been the Arts & Letters of Heraldo de Aragón, which they would pick up just a few days ago.

Ondas de la Música Awards, different Sgae Music Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards and even the National Prize for Current Music are not lacking in their showcases. Among them there are different Aragonese Music Awards.

During this time they have published eight studio albums, an epé, three live albums, two special editions and a compilation.
