Germany is trying at the EU level to agree on the abolition of sanctions for the import of Russian fertilizer in order to ensure global food security. One of the European diplomats told EUobserver about this.
He noted that a number of other EU countries also intend to obtain for themselves derogations from the ban on doing business with the mining industry of the Russian Federation.
“We are at an impasse. There are disagreements on fundamental issues that are difficult to agree on, ”the publication quotes its interlocutor.
According to another EU diplomat, negotiations between ambassadors on sanctions could drag on until Friday.
