India and Pakistan are undervalued markets with huge gas consumption potential. This was stated by the head of the department of foreign economic activity of “Gazprom” Dmitry Khandoga.
At the same time, he recalled that in many respects the determining factor is logistics, since these countries are quite far from Russia, RIA Novosti reports. Nevertheless, interest in Russian gas does not fade away – at the intergovernmental level, Russia’s dialogue continues with both Indian and Pakistani colleagues.
“The main issue of logistics is how to deliver gas there. Therefore, it can be both pipeline supplies and LNG supplies,” Khandoga said.
Pakistan in early December turned to Russia with a request to provide discount for oil in the amount of 30-40%.
