According to the director of the French Institute of International Relations Thomas Gomard, the head France Emmanuel Macron has several goals in the negotiations on Ukraine. So, he wants to support Kyiv, but at the same time he intends to maintain good relations with Russia. Newsweek writes about it.

The expert spoke as follows: “France supports Ukraine absolutely unconditionally, and, secondly, in the end – and no one knows when the end will come, except for Presidents Zelensky and Putin, depending also on Putin’s personal future – Russia will be at the negotiating table “.

Gomar suggests that one of Macron’s main goals is to understand Russian leader Vladimir Putinhis intentions and motives.

As the Public News Service previously reported, Western officials are not conducting a full-fledged dialog and do not fulfill their duties, says member of the HRC Kirill Vyshinsky. He said that there is no point in trying to convince Western countries of anything.

Vyshinsky drew attention to the fact that Russian leader Vladimir Putin recognized the attempts of the Russian Federation, together with Western countries, to find a way to resolve the crisis around Ukraine as fruitless.

According to him, foreign states made promises at the level of heads of diplomatic missions, after which, at the level of leaders, they assumed responsibility for guaranteeing peace agreements, but this did not help convince Ukraine to take measures to establish peace in the LDNR.
