The National Trust carried out restoration work on a painting by Joshua Reynolds painted more than 230 years ago. Fox News shared the details.
We are talking about the artist’s work “The Death of Cardinal Beaufort,” in which another image was discovered under several layers of paint and varnish. Experts called it “a beast, an evil spirit or a demon.”
An unknown creature was located above the head of the bed in which the dying Cardinal Beaufort was located.
“It was not in keeping with some of the artistic conventions of the time for a poetic figure of speech to be so literally represented in this monstrous figure,” said John Chu, the foundation’s senior national curator of paintings and sculpture.
A secret “hall of knowledge” was discovered under the Great Sphinx in Giza. More details read the material Public News Service.
