North Korean authorities executed the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, Lee Yong-ho, and several other people who held public office. This is reported by the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri, which refers to sources informed about the situation.
The execution was reportedly carried out between the summer and autumn of 2022. There is no exact information about the reasons for the verdict, but it is reported that some of the executed are united by their place of work – the North Korean embassy in Great Britain. In this regard, it is assumed that the reasons for the execution may lie in some problems that arose during the activities of the embassy.
Earlier it became known that the head of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, initiated the development of the country’s military potential. The Korean leader instructed to develop and put into production an intercontinental ballistic missile that could deliver a nuclear counterattack, and also called for increasing the production of nuclear weapons.
