The leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, in his Telegram channel called the night of January 6 the coldest in Moscow since the start of winter.

“The coldest night since the beginning of winter has come to the capital. The minimum air temperature in Moscow, at the base weather station of the city, VDNKh, by 7 am was minus 22.6 degrees,” he wrote.

And he added that in the region it was the coldest in Taldom – minus 26.1 degrees.

Formerly Public News Service wrotethat the scientific instructor of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted extreme cold in the central part. According to him, such weather will come from January 6. He stressed that the average temperature could drop 9-17 degrees below normal.

Meanwhile, IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva spoke with the assertion that the states located on the territory of Europe will have to go through a difficult winter period without fuel supplies from the Russian Federation.
