A fire at the industrial site of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company claimed two lives, the press service of the RF Investigative Committee for the Irkutsk Region reports.

As explained in the department, on December 15, at about 06:00 local time, a fire was recorded on the territory of the oil refinery. It is noted that the fire spread throughout the process plant.
“As a result of the fire, four people were injured, two died,” the Investigative Committee commented.
Representatives of the department also added that one of the victims was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.
Investigators launched an additional check at the enterprise, and also opened a criminal case. They believe that the fire could have occurred due to a violation of safety rules at hazardous facilities.
On Tuesday, December 13, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a fire in the territory machine-building plant “Star” in St. Petersburg. According to them, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
