Festival “Play, accordion!” in Skopin gathered about a hundred participants

On June 19, Skopin hosted an inter-district festival “Play, accordion! Call, ditty! This celebration of folk talents is being held for the 11th time, and invariably gathers a lot of performers from different parts of the Ryazan region and spectators. The festival began with a parade of participants that filled the entire stage. The guests were greeted by Marina Retyunskaya, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism Skopina, and Abbot Ambrose, Rector of the Dimitrievsky Monastery, who have been organizing and supporting the Russian Music Festival for all these years.

Marina Retyunskaya:

“Play, accordion!” This is a holiday for our city. Because the Russian harmonica is always a joy, these are beautiful songs, this is our soul!”

On this day, lyrical and comic compositions, suffering and ditties, songs about war and homeland, about love and friendship sounded. All participants, both the smallest and the most experienced, soloists and large groups, were warmly welcomed by the audience. Mikhail Masyagin from the city of Korablino started playing at the age of 10, and has not parted with the accordion for more than 40 years.

Mikhail Masyagin:

“I studied on my own: I watched, memorized how the men play in our village. I started with ditties, and now there is nothing in my repertoire. And I like to come to Skopin: the city is hospitable and the audience is very sincere.”

At the festival, Mikhail not only played solo, but also accompanied the famous ditty player Claudia Ermakova from Ryazan, with whom they have been performing together for almost 40 years.

“I haven’t performed anywhere! At concerts, at competitions, at anniversaries. I was also at the “Minute of Glory”, and now I’m going to the program to Andrey Malakhov. It’s like a big year, I have to finish with performances, but I can’t live without a song!

Each participant received a diploma and a gift as a memento of the festival, and most importantly, an exchange of creative energy and a desire to create further.

Antonina Petrachkova, viewer:

“Thank you so much everyone! Such wonderful artists gathered on the same stage on the same day and brought us joy with their performance. We are waiting for everyone again at the Play, Accordion festival and wish you creative success, new songs.
