Bulgaria is one of the few EU countries that has set in its Strategic Plan 60% national co-financing for rural development, which shows our clear desire to modernize the agricultural sector, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Momchil Nekov said during a meeting with farmers from Azerbaijan.

Nekov briefly presented the development and vision for the future of Bulgarian agriculture. He highlighted the support provided in the Strategic Plan for Agriculture and Rural Development for the next programming period 2023-2027.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture noted the importance of developing innovation and digitalization in agriculture, presenting the opportunities provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – increasing the sustainable management and competitiveness of the agricultural sector.

The meeting was organized with the support of the Center for Economic Development and is part of a project funded by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the delegation is to support and encourage small and medium-sized producers to develop more successfully and more easily market their products.
