The press service of the administration of the Leningrad region reports that the fire broke out at a gas filling station near Vsevolozhsk.

According to the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko, the fire that arose as a result of an explosion on the gas pipeline between Berngardovka and Kovalevo is now being eliminated. According to him, there is no threat to the population.

“Firefighters and rescuers are extinguishing a fire caused by an explosion on a gas pipeline between Berngardovka and Kovalevo. There is no threat to the population and the spread of fire to residential areas. The causes of the explosion are being established,” – wrote he.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations called the cause of the fire in the Leningrad region “depressurization of the facility with subsequent ignition.” They say there is no threat to the population.

The authorities of the Leningrad region reported that a fire train was connected to extinguish a fire on a gas pipeline near St. Petersburg.

Later, Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg reported that in the Leningrad region there was a rupture of the Belousovo-Leningrad gas pipeline with a fire, the section was promptly turned off. The company is completing the switching of consumers to gas supply from other sources after a rupture in a gas pipeline in the Leningrad Region.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, at the moment open burning on the gas pipeline in the Leningrad Region has been eliminated.
