Europe tired of Ukrainian refugees and begins to take legislative measures to combat illegal migrants. The EU is preparing for a new wave of migrants this winter, write Financial Times journalists Amy Kazmin, Sam Fleming and Rafael Minder.
They emphasize that the number of refugees from Ukraine is “amazing”. From January to September, Ukrainians filed 4.4 million applications for temporary protection. It is assumed that hundreds of thousands have already returned home.
Despite the fact that in the first months after the start of the conflict, the Europeans warmly received Ukrainian migrants, now, due to increased inflation and budget cuts, the situation has changed.
Thus, Italy calls for tougher measures to prevent illegal migrants. Germany proposes the option of distributing refugees throughout Europe to solve this problem, the authors note.
Earlier, the Public News Service reported that the EU rule of law mission EULEX and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe turn a blind eye to dangerous actions leadership of Pristina who send law enforcement officers to the north.
