Ninth package anti-Russian sanctions contribute to the aggravation of economic problems in European countries. This opinion was expressed by readers of the German edition Die Welt*.

According to them, ordinary Europeans cease to believe in the effectiveness of restrictive measures. They also noted that previous sanctions failed to destroy the Russian economy, but led to a shortage of energy resources in Europe.

Users are convinced that the sanctions policy can “kill” European industrial enterprises and small businesses.

“The European Union is simply burying itself,” one commentator pointed out.

Other readers agreed with his position. Subscribers recalled that in the event of normalization of contacts with the Russian Federation in the energy sector, Germany could again receive cheap gas. At the same time, some users suggested that in such a scenario, Washington would have imposed sanctions against Europe, angry with it.

Another commentator predicted that the FRG would plunge into a state of “total darkness” as a result of the reverse effect of restrictive measures against Moscow.
