Foreign Secretary Estonia Urmas Reinsalu during a press conference said that the price ceiling for oil from Russia must be below the market price.

“The ceiling on Russian oil has worked and has not caused a global fuel crisis, so it makes sense to lower it from $60 a barrel,” he said.

And he added: “Because the real price of Russian crude oil is below this ceiling.”

Reinsalu stressed that it was decided to regularly review the price ceiling – thus, this procedure is scheduled for mid-January.
