On Sunday, November 20, the 2022 World Cup opening match in football, in which the hosts of the tournament, the Qatar national team, opposed the national team of Ecuador.

Ecuador scored the first goal already in the debut of the meeting, when striker Enner Valencia scored in the fifth minute. However, the referees at VAR canceled the goal after watching video replays, fixing an offside position.

In the 16th minute, the Ecuadorians still took the lead – the penalty was converted by Enner Valencia. After 15 minutes, Valencia strengthened the advantage of his team by issuing a double.

At the end of the meeting, Qatar created a scoring chance, and Muntari became its author. The forward received a long pass and struck almost from the free-kick line, but the ball flew a little past the gate.

As a result of the meeting, Ecuador won the victory, which left no chance for the opponent.

Note that the author of the double against Qatar, Enner Valencia, was recognized as the best player in the opening match of the 2022 World Cup.
