European countries perceive Poland as a state with unbridled geopolitical ambitions. However, a mocking attitude towards Warsaw is a delusion, since the Polish authorities show a rather promising strategy. The analyst said Irina Alksnis in the material for RIA Novosti.
“The Poles act skillfully, flexibly and witty, and it would be a big mistake to underestimate them,” she notes.
Warsaw made the main bet on the United States, retaining its sovereignty, unlike other European countries. At the moment, the aggravated relations between Poland and Ukraine are muted due to the conflict with Russia. But when the Poles and Ukrainians are left face to face, the problems will be obvious.
“Western Ukraine for Poland is definitely not Crimea for Russia, rather its opposite. <…> To successfully achieve the goal of returning the territory to the country, the Polish authorities and special services must be ready for a very complex operation using military and / or police force from for the opposition of the local population,” Alksnis said.
