The conspirators planned to assassinate the chancellor Germany Olaf Scholz during the coup. This is reported by the New York Times, citing sources familiar with the investigation.
According to them, more than a hundred non-disclosure agreements were found during the searches. In them, the signatories swore to keep the plans of the group of conspirators secret. In particular, it indicated an attack on the German parliament, the arrest of its members, and the murder of the German Chancellor.
A little earlier it became known that the German police confiscated dozens of firearms from those preparing a coup d’état. Law enforcement officers carried out raids in 150 settlements of the country.
Investigators found 40 weapons. Thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized for other weapons that the police have yet to find in caches.
Earlier, the Public News Service reported that opponents of support for Ukraine in the European Union would not be able to prevent initiatives bloc, Scholz said.
