Buckingham Palace is about to officially announce that the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parkerwill lose its title as “Queen consort” after the coronation of the king charles in May, according to British media reports.
What the British media have revealed is that after the Coronation of the king charles and Camilla Parkershe would go from “queen consort” to “queen”, also her charity would change its name, since it will go from “the reading room of the Duchess of Cornwall” to “the queen’s reading room”.
It has also been reported that even though her royal title is going to change, the Queen will still be Queen consort and the Palace won’t stop anyone from calling her that if they want to.
This title change is the culmination of Camilla Parker’s transformation into the nation, as when she married the Prince of Wales in 2005, who is now King Charles, it was thought she would never be called Queen due to her relationship with Charles while he was married to Diana. However, Camilla Parker has won over the public and the deceased Queen isabel IIthe same that in February of last year gave the order that her daughter-in-law be known as Queen consort.
In an official statement marking the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne, the late monarch said:
It is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her loyal service.
The official decree established by the Queen isabel II It ends years of speculation about whether Camilla would one day be known as Queen and in just over two months, Camilla will be crowned in Westminster Abbey alongside the King.
