Carrying out a real air police mission, Bulgarian pilots took control of a civilian aircraft from their Romanian colleagues, escorted it over the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and handed it over to Turkish fighters.

The Bulgarian crews completed all procedures in accordance with the requirements of national and international legislation on aviation control and airspace protection.

Later, the escorted passenger plane landed successfully in Istanbul without any consequences for the passengers and crew.

With this flight, the Bulgarian Air Force once again guaranteed both the safety of the population and infrastructure of the Republic of Bulgaria and the calmness of air traffic.
